Day 8 Update


Today was another pretty productive one! Did a little bit of fine tuning of how I present controls to the player and made sure certain parts of controller navigation are actually working! Hopefully I've fixed most of the remaining issues with controller navigation, but yeah, making steady progress!

Still have the same issues with the main menu, where it's not quite properly navigable with the controller, but I should be able to knock that out tomorrow as long as I don't get tremendously distracted! 😅

Either way, keeping it a bit short since I almost forgot to update, and need to hit the hay. Here's my update notes!

Changelog:

  • moved notification about NPC trading to only occur when the player recruits billy
  • fixed displaying of "right button" to now be "right click"
  • added new fields to highlightable object for both favorite consumable and equippable slots
  • added functionality for removing favorites using the controller
  • added functionality for adding favorites using the controller
  • fixed an issue with unfavoriting occasionally unequipping "fists" into the player's inventory (this item should never show in the nventory)
  • fixed a few misc. issues with highlightable cursor and opening/closing of windows
  • updated tutorial notification for adding favorites to include controller hotkeys (when player is using controller)
  • fixed hopefully last issue with controller cursor not hiding after closing UI
  • removed highlighting of text box for dialogue printer in controller mode
  • modified "click to skip" text to also display controller hotkey when needed
  • highlightable cursor automatically moves to buttons when available in dialogue

Known Issues:

  • Main menu navigation with controller still not working correctly
  • Pressing the Save button on the main menu's settings with the controller causes the game to jump straight to the tutorial scene
