Day 4 Update


Today was another one of them "sort of distracted" days where I still managed to get stuff done, though it was mostly a lot of tinkering in pursuit of a fix for a few issues. Overall I feel the camera is much closer to a stable point and I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. There are still some situations where it gets caught for a moment, or sort of flicks in an unnatural way, but it's definitely getting there!

Will be taking the next couple days off for my "Seto-Weekend" and I'll be back on Saturday with more game dev, just gonna be continuing the grind and hopefully knockin' out the remainder of the very notable bugs so that hopefully I can work more on adding content to the tutorial zone and start in on graphics, sounds, etc. There's really SO MUCH TO DO!! But I love the challenge, and I won't be backing down! 💪

Changelog:

  • configured input system to have "looking" and "moving" parameters
  • ^leveraged these parameters to make camera stop moving in cases where the player is not moving or looking (which solves issues with camera twitching)
  • increased range of "walk to and talk" functionality to prevent player from running away from NPCs that want to talk!
  • modified closure of player inventory when looting to include other inventory in close operation
  • fixed issue with notification queue
  • fixed issue with follow area being active after abandoning billy
  • fixed another sneaky issue with the Elder's quest being activated even if the player does not listen to the elder's story
