Day 2 Mini-Update


Super small update today as I did a short stream! However, a small update isn't necessarily an un-important one. I managed to tune up the camera a decent bit, fixing up a lot of edge cases where the camera would either jitter out like crazy, or get stuck on walls, clip through terrain, or just generally be janky. I still have more work to do on it (as I'm not using Cinemachine it's an entirely self-written camera) but I feel it's good progress either way!

Couple more days left to this week, gonna try and get some notes together for stuff that I can work on tomorrow so I can have a bit more of an organized stream, and yeah, as per usual, here are the patch notes!

Changelog:

  • added layer of obstruction detection to camera
    ^also applied this on a per-frame basis eliminating a lot of wall clipping and weird getting-stuck scenarios 
  •  modified layer mask of camera's obstruction detection to reduce false positives.
  •  swapped over item slot interaction to new input system 
  •  added a sign in the starting room to show the player how to open inventory & use/equip items (sorry)
  •  fixed issue with tutorial signs not being able to properly show UI-based hotkeys
